It helps you come out of your vicious circle, which gives you more questions than answers.
This is a short journey experience of Gujrat and Diu(Daman and Diu). It’s important to share your travelogue because:

It gives the real insight of a journey, which one may not find on internet.
It keeps memories alive. On some sad boring day, a flashback of the journey can get your spunk back.
      It fills your blog. :D
It will do post analysis of your journey.
I would stop myself here, as it feels like I am filling my answer-sheet of Professional Development exam of engineering.
Various new projects are blooming, one of them is Japanese Industrial Town.
This journey was 1267 kms long.
The special thing about Volvo buses’ journey is that you travel with sky. The wide open window especially in nights give you a good glimpse of starry night, but only if you are away from pollution.

I chased the moon whole night

One thing to note when you travel in Sauhhrashtra region and also Rajsthan is,  these sleeper buses leaded by Srinath travels and its duplicates. It gives you comfortable journey experience, and buses are clean.
So we reached the Ahmadabad.

Twin cities of Gandhinagar and Ahmadabad which people often mistake for capital of Gujrat.

We reached here just before city woke up.

Just like many other cities a river(Sabarmati) divides the city not just geographically but also economically.
Sabarmati flows very gently, sometimes  it seems to be a lake. Atleast on road-crossings, shops. One thing I really loved about this city is how much blended its people are in their culture, even the chips are also Desi. A local brand known Balaji. Brand names have been written in Gujrati. even Tommy, KFC & Mc D have their names in Gujrati.
There is no entry fee for Gandhi ashram. It caters variety of people, right from the ones deeply influenced by Gandhiji to the ones influenced by their 3 monkeys or their idols.
Business-understanding is surely there in Gujrat. Look at Kankariya lake and see how they have made full use of it. It is just like a regular lake of the country but they have used the every slice of it for something. It has eating places, zoo, fun park, amusement zones, theater, toy train, boat-rides and guess what more a butterfly park. City also have an IMAX. It’s in science city. To add more, it has a very well maintained vintage car museum, make sure you arrange the return trip. It’s far away from city without any public transport.

GIR…probably the best maintained Jungle in India; one and only home for both Asiatic lions and Indian leopards. They have increased the lion population from almost extincted two figures to 411. Do make sure you get the morning safari as its the best time to spot wild life, or you got to have a luck like us, because we were exceptionally fortunate to spot both lion and leopard.

Interestingly the lions once thrived up-to Greece. They are different from African lions. Difference are, the lesser prominent mane on male, the dangling skin below their bally and the most important, their social behavior. They keep smaller herds with lesser population and a short spree of male. My luck with feline worked.Asiatic lion is special and rare at the same time. But what makes spotting Indian leopard memorable is its shyness, its sheer agility, it being quickest mammal in jungle.

When we saw him, his dark spots were still visible on it’s dirt ridden body.

Don’t forget to spot the rare birds here. Staff really love jungle, it’s serenity,it’s tranquility. I think that’s the reason Gir is most prestigious jungle in India.

Interestingly, there is an African tribe known as Siddi, which is living in jungle and also out of it. This excerpt has been added lately after I did read and saw more about Gir. Its very important to document it to make it more composite. Siddi have come after East-African princess married to Nawaab of Junagarh in 18th century. It’s so amusing to see these natively African Gujaratis here.

The Maaldharis, second tribe is even more special. They have been living here since ages. The only tribe to thrive in Lions. They are beautifully cultured and constantly undertakes predators; challenge.

Sometimes waves unite and strike so hard, sometimes they counter each other.

Div(An Island) or Diu, it’s unbelievable how Portuguese colonized it for so long, but this is a place, to stop your pace of life. Island of Calm(Ilha de Calma), that’s what tourism department says. You must have seen it’s very impressive advert on TV or youtube. They have put astonishingly impressive video featuring all the places around this Island. This place has got serenity. So visit it before its crowded by tourists, just like Goa.
Horizon diminishing across Nagoa beach

Diu has alcohol legal contrary to Gujrat. Gujjus come here to quench their thirst. It gives you a glimpse of Arabian sea which is more calm than east coast of India. It’s amazing feeling to know you have nothing in between you and Africa, except the Arabian Sea. If you want to experience the luxury of life, that too at a very small cost, feast on the Apna-foodland and watch a sailors life just on the connecting shore, where they anchor their ships and do daily chores.

Fishermen make sure they polish the bottom of ship, so that it doesn’t get rusty.
Sunset and Sunrise makes you high.
